Reverse Osmosis Systems in Addison
A compact reverse osmosis system tucked into your kitchen cabinet means crisp water for your morning coffee, your soup pot and the glass by your bed. We test your water first, set a clear arrival window for the install, and call you right away if anything shifts.

What reverse osmosis does at your kitchen sink
Under your sink, water pressure forces tap water across a membrane with openings so small that dissolved solids, metals such as lead, and much of what gives water a flat or chemical taste get left behind and rinsed away. A carbon stage ahead of the membrane takes out sediment and chlorine, and another carbon stage after it smooths the taste. Treated water flows from its own small faucet beside your main one.
Because RO serves a single faucet, it handles the water you drink and cook with rather than your showers or washing machine. For better water at every tap, our Whole-Home Filtration page explains that option, and the two pair nicely.
We plan each install around your week. You get a set arrival window, a realistic idea of how long the work takes, and a heads-up if a part is delayed or we are running behind.
What your RO install includes
- Multi-stage filter setup
- Sediment and carbon prefilters protect the membrane, and a carbon post-filter polishes taste before water reaches your glass.
- Dedicated drinking faucet
- We add a slim faucet next to your main one. When your sink has no open hole for it, we go over the drilling choices with you before any work begins.
- Storage tank and drain connection
- The tank fits in the cabinet so you have treated water ready when you need it. We tie the reject line into your drain with a proper saddle so it runs quietly and cleanly.
- Optional refrigerator or ice maker line
- If your fridge is close enough, we can run treated water to it so your ice tastes as good as your drinking water.
- Startup and a quick tour
- Before we pack up, we run water through to clear the new cartridges and look over each connection for drips. Then we point out the filter housings and the feed valve, so you know how to turn the system off if you ever need to.
When an under-sink RO system is worth it
Cases of bottled water fill your pantry
If a stack of plastic bottles is how your family gets drinking and cooking water, a dedicated RO faucet can take its place.
Your tap water tastes like a pool
Chlorine taste and smell show up most in plain water, coffee and tea. The carbon stages in an RO system handle that at the sink.
You worry about older plumbing
Lead usually comes from older pipes and solder inside your home, not from the city supply. An RO membrane does a strong job of pulling it out of the water you drink and cook with.
Ice cubes look cloudy or taste off
Dissolved minerals and chlorine end up concentrated in ice. Filtered water to the fridge often clears that up.
Your test shows high dissolved solids
When your water test reads high on total dissolved solids, RO is the filter built to bring that number down.
How your install day runs
- 1
Phone call and water test
You call, we set a time that suits you, and we test your water at your home. You hear what the numbers mean in plain words.
- 2
Clear quote and a firm window
We recommend a system only if the test supports it, then give you a quote and an arrival window for install day. If a part is backordered, we tell you before you rearrange your plans.
- 3
Installation under the sink
Most kitchen installs take a few hours. We clear and protect the cabinet, mount the system, connect the feed, drain and faucet, and clean up when we finish.
- 4
First fill and filter schedule
The tank takes a few hours to fill the first time, and we flush the first batch. Before we leave, we write down when your filters and membrane are due.

What moves the price of an RO system
Every kitchen is a little different, so we quote after we have seen your sink and tested your water. Standard professional installation is included for qualifying homes, and we explain anything outside that before work starts.
- Number of stages
- A simple unit with the standard filter stages is the lower-cost choice. Adding a remineralization stage, which puts a little calcium and magnesium back for taste, raises the price.
- Water pressure
- RO membranes work best with steady pressure. Low pressure may call for a booster pump, which adds to the cost.
- Faucet and countertop work
- Using an existing sprayer hole is simple. Drilling stone or quartz takes more time and the right bits.
- Extra lines
- Running treated water to a refrigerator or ice maker adds tubing and labor, more so when the fridge sits across the kitchen.
Common questions about reverse osmosis
Something not covered here? (972) 750-4773
How long does the install take?
An under-sink system usually takes a few hours. You get an arrival window in advance and a call if we are behind. After that, the tank needs a few hours to fill all the way.
Does an RO system send water down the drain?
Yes, part of the water rinses the membrane and goes to the drain. How much depends on the unit and your water pressure. Because it only serves drinking and cooking water, the overall amount stays small, and we show you the ratio for the system we suggest.
Does RO water taste flat?
With the minerals gone, some people find the taste lighter. A remineralization stage puts a little back, and we can add one if you like that taste better.
When do the filters need replacing?
Prefilters and the post-filter are typically changed every six to twelve months, and the membrane often lasts a few years. The exact timing depends on your incoming water and how much you draw each day for drinking and cooking. We give you a written schedule so you know when.
Is there room under my sink if I have a disposal?
In most kitchens, yes. A slim tank and a thoughtful layout fit most cabinets, and we measure your space at the water test so install day goes as planned.
Will I also need whole-home filtration or a softener?
Not necessarily. RO handles drinking water. Whole-home filtration helps with showers and laundry, and a softener only makes sense when your test shows hard water. We tell you plainly which ones, if any, your home needs.
