ServicesWhole-Home Filtration
Whole-Home Filtration in Addison
We put one filter on your main water line, so every faucet, shower and appliance in your home draws from the same treated supply. First comes a water test and a plain explanation of the results, then a realistic install date you can plan around.

Why Filter Every Tap at Once
Cities add a disinfectant to keep water safe as it travels through miles of pipe. You may pick it up as a pool-like smell in a hot shower or a flat taste in coffee and ice. A whole-home system runs your main line through a big tank of carbon media that removes that taste and smell before water gets to any fixture.
It makes sense when the taste or smell shows up everywhere, in the shower, the laundry and the ice maker. If you only care about drinking water, see our Reverse Osmosis page for a smaller under-sink system. If your test shows hardness is the real problem, a water softener may be the better fit, and we will tell you that directly.
We are clear about timing as well. You get an arrival window for your test, a firm install day and a phone call from us if plans change.

What Your Whole-Home Filtration Install Includes
- 01
Water test at your home
We check your water before recommending anything, so the system matches what is actually coming out of your tap.
- 02
System sized to your household
We size the tank by the number of bathrooms and how much water you use at once. An undersized filter can drop shower pressure when two fixtures run together.
- 03
Media chosen for city disinfectant
Standard carbon handles chlorine well. Where the water is treated with chloramine, we use catalytic carbon, which is made for that job.
- 04
Bypass valve and sediment pre-filter
A bypass lets you keep water flowing if the system ever needs service. A pre-filter catches grit before it reaches the main tank and helps the media last longer.
- 05
Clean install and walkthrough
We protect the work area, clean up when we finish and show you how the bypass works and when the media and pre-filter need attention.
Questions about Whole-Home Filtration?
Call(972) 750-4773Signs Your Home Could Use a Whole-Home Filter
A chlorine smell in the shower
Hot water releases more of the disinfectant into the air. If the bathroom smells like a pool, a kitchen filter will not fix it.
Coffee, tea or ice tastes off
Taste complaints that show up in everything you make with tap water point to the whole supply, not one faucet.
Pitcher filters in every room
If you are refilling pitchers and changing cartridges constantly, one system on the main line is often simpler.
Grit in faucet aerators
Sediment that clogs aerators and showerheads is a good reason for a pre-filter, which comes with every whole-home install we do.
How the Work Is Scheduled, Start to Finish
- 1
Your phone call
Tell us what you are noticing and we set a test visit with an arrival window that works for your day.
- 2
The water test visit
We test your water, look at where your main line enters your home and talk through what we found. You get a written quote and a proposed install date, with no pressure to decide that day.
- 3
Install day
Most installs take part of a day. We shut off your water only for the plumbing connections and let you know before it goes off and when it is back on.
- 4
Startup and follow-up
We flush the new media, check for leaks and pressure, then walk you through upkeep. If our schedule ever changes, you hear it from us by phone ahead of time, not after a missed window.
What Sets the Price of Whole-Home Filtration
Your home and your water decide the price, so we test first and give you a quote by phone or in person once the visit is done. Standard professional installation included for qualifying homes. When your setup calls for more than that, we tell you why before you say yes.
- Tank size
- Homes with more bathrooms and heavier water use need a bigger tank so pressure holds up.
- Filter media
- Catalytic carbon, used for chloramine, is pricier than standard carbon. We only recommend it when your test calls for it.
- Main line location
- A main line that comes in somewhere easy to reach, like a garage wall, makes for a quick install. Rerouting pipe or adding long runs to get the tank in a good spot takes more time and parts.
- Other equipment
- Adding a softener or UV treatment widens the job, and each piece gets its own price so you can see what it costs.
Whole-Home Filtration Questions
Will I lose water pressure with a whole-home filter?
Not if the system is sized correctly. Pressure problems usually come from a tank too small for the house or a clogged pre-filter. We size for your bathroom count and show you when to change the pre-filter.
How long will my water be off on install day?
Only while we make the plumbing connections, usually a short stretch of the visit. We tell you before we shut it off and again when it is back on, so you can plan showers, laundry and dishes.
Do I still need a reverse osmosis system?
Many people are happy with whole-home filtration alone. Reverse osmosis goes further for drinking and cooking water at one sink. We will tell you after the test whether it adds anything for your home.
How often does the media need replacing?
It depends on tank size and how much water your household uses. Carbon media lasts years, while the sediment pre-filter needs changing more often. We give you a realistic schedule at the walkthrough.
What happens if you are running late?
We call you before the window closes, not after. If a job ahead of yours runs long, you get an honest new time so you are not left waiting by the door.

Put Your Water Test on the Calendar
